So here’s the deal, if you are a reader of my blog and have heard me mention this S.O.S. thing and didn’t know what it was, I’m about to tell you. It’s not that I didn’t want to talk about it, it’s just that I haven’t had time to really sit down and type it all out. Even now as I write, I hear Kayla destroying my kitchen. That’s the beauty about writing I guess, you can start and stop and no one will ever know :)

So, S.O.S. is just short for Snippets of Sisterhood. And Snippets of Sisterhood is a girls group / Bible Study that Julie Henderson and I started about 3 months ago. It’s just a group of girls that get together every month, have some snacks, fellowship and have a little devotional time. Meetings have been small starting off, but we really hope for our numbers to continue to grow. We are not a secret society, anyone is welcome. Well, anyone of the female gender that is. The cool part of the group is that we don’t all go to the same church, so everyone has something different to bring to the table.

So where did we get the name? Well, you’d have to ask Julie the specific details, but I can break it down.

Snippets: ( Noun) – a small part, piece or thing

Of: (preposition) used as a function word to indicate the component material, parts, or elements or the contents

Sisterhood: (Adjective) Being associated as a companion or associate; “fellow traveler”; “brother workers”; “sister ship”

And our motto pretty much sums it up…

“We are here to love one another for who we are, where we are and encourage one another in where we are going.”

So, instead of rewriting everything, check it out for yourself. Read all about it at Snippetsofsisterhood.com. While you are there, leave us a comment, we’d love to hear from you, or even better, we’d love to see you at a meeting. We meet on the first Thursday of every month, at 7pm. This month the meeting will be at my house, and if you are reading this, you probably know where I live.

I finished it…

I finished, “The Shack”, today. Kayla was drugged up on Benadryl so I got some me time to lay out in the hammock and finish the last 2 chapters. This is truly an incredible book. It’s hard to really say much about it without giving away the plot . But the focus of the book is restoration and healing through Jesus, and having a personal relationship with our heavenly father. This a great read for everyone. And I promise once you read it, you’ll want to pass it on to someone else. I encourage you to pick up a copy next time you are at Lifeway or any other book store. You won’t be disappointed. Also, we will be discussing the book at our next S.O.S. meeting. This Thursday night, May 1st, 7pm at my house. We will have a special guest speaker and something special for everyone in attendance. Sorry fellas, Ladies only!!! Please let me know if you would like to attend and need more information.

I never get any comments when I do post, but when I don’t, I get fussed at. Oh well, at least I have a few readers out there, or had since I haven’t posted in almost a month. Really not much has been happening, so not much to talk about. Kayla’s growing like a weed. She got a pool for her birthday and she LOVES to play in it.

This photo was taken before the rain and leaves fell in. It needs a good scrubbing before she can swim again. So, if anyone would like to take care of that for me, please let me know. Hmmm, what else… Oh, I went to defensive driving class last night. I had to go if I wanted my speeding ticket taken off my driving record. So I went, and I was definitely not the only speeder in class. It wasn’t as horrible as I thought it was going to be. However on the way home, I got caught in that awful weather. I was praying out loud, that I would not be struck by lightening. Then on the interstate I hit the hail, it was really loud. I didn’t look today, but I am sure I have some nice dings. It was an intense drive home, thats for sure. I don’t mind weather, I actually like the rain, but I don’t like to drive in it.

That’s pretty much it. I am going to go read another chapter in, ” The Shack“. Incredible book, it’s by William P. Young. Next time you are at Lifeway or Barnes & Noble, pick up a copy. I have to finish reading it by next Thursday. We are going to be discussing it at out next S.O.S. meeting. After that its off to bed. I am exhausted, I have a Dr.’s appointment tomorrow, I think I have strep throat. ( That’s my self diagnosis from the internet)
