Well, we had a pretty good weekend. Kayla spent the night at Maw Maw & Paw Paw’s house Friday night. So we got to stay out as late as we wanted, which was about 10:00pm. We’re old, give us a break. We were supposed to run a 5k Saturday morning, but 6:30am came awfully early and I just couldn’t get out of bed. So instead, we went to breakfast and then to play tennis. After that we went to an LSU Baseball game. Man, I love baseball. It was a beautiful day and we both have a sunburn on the left side of our face. Thats ok, it was worth it.

Today, we barbecued in honor of Wes’ 26 birthday. I tried to be nice to him since it was his special day. Just kidding, I’m nice to him all the time. Although, 3 hours was my limit of Nascar. I made his favorite Key Lime pie for the occasion.

In other news, Kayla is getting a little braver. She is starting to let go and walk on her own, its only about 4 steps at a time, but its a start. She’s been getting some new foods lately. While most are a hit, she is not a fan of avocado.

Still here…

Well, I haven’t much to report lately. Not that that’s a bad thing, I’m not a fan of drama. Been hitting the gym lately, they finally opened the indoor pool, so that’s where I’ve been. Wes and I are doing a 5k this weekend, ( if it doesn’t rain). Oh and I got a new CD. It’s Cas Haley’s, self titled debut album and its pretty good. I like it. It’s exclusively on iTunes, so go check it out.

My Valentine…

Friday, February 15th, 2008

I know, I’m a day late in posting. But here are some photos from Valentines Day. I tried to find Kayla a valentine candy but pickings were slim. Thought I’d find a lollipop, but so such luck. She can’t have chocolate or hard candy, so it proved to be very difficult. Luckily I did find a Baby Bottle Pop. Probably not the best Valentine gift ever, but she seemed to enjoy it anyway. You can see the sugar high glare in her eyes.

First Cupcake…

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

I made some cupcakes this week and I couldn’t resist sharing with Kayla. We stripped her down and gave it to her whole. Being the princess that she is, she would not touch it. Instead she stuck her whole face in it. Thats how she ate the whole thing. I think she enjoyed it. When all was said and done, there was a little cupcake left, but no icing. That’s my girl. We figured she needed the practice for her upcoming birthday party.

First trip to the zoo…

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

We have had such beautiful weather the last couple days. I couldn’t sit in the house any longer. So I drug Wes off the couch and we loaded Kayla up and headed off to the Baton Rouge Zoo. (Which is not actually in Baton Rouge) Good thing Wes knew where it was, because I sure didn’t. I think she really enjoyed it. She loves to go outside, so she liked her stroller ride all around. They had a lot of renovations going on there, so we’ll have to check it out again in a couple months and see if there are any new animals. When she gets a little older and can walk, I want to take her to the Aquarium in New Orleans. Maybe the Audubon Zoo too. You can check out all the Pictures here.

Success…

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

I just listed my first item on Ebay. The amazing part is that I figured it out all by myself. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. I don’t have any experience in selling, only buying.  So in 7 days, we’ll find out if it worked, if someone bought it. I have more to sell, but I want to see how this first one goes before I list anything else.
