Little R&R

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Well Wes and my vacation is almost over. We head back to Baton Rouge tomorrow. I tell you one day at the beach goes by fast!!! This was a mini vacation. Just a little get away before summer ended. Left Kayla with the grandparents and took off for Destin, FL yesterday around noon. We’ve spent most of our time either at the beach or the pool. We even have a little sun to show for it. We got a great room right on the beach. This is a shot from our balcony.

We had fun at the beach even though there weren’t a whole lot of waves.

I buried him…

Yes, we had fun, but we had to eat too. So we went to world famous Fudpuckers for some burgers and wings. We even left our name in the table so that future generations will know we were there and maybe even read my blog.1235349430_14072d960a.jpg

Don’t worry, we didn’t deface the table. If you haven’t been there then you wouldn’t know that everyone that goes writes on the tables, booths, walls, windows, ceilings, light fixtures, decor, basically anything in the restaurant that you can reach with a marker. If you can find an empty space, you can autograph it. I’ll post all the pictures on my myspace page when I get home. So check back and check out all our pics.

Rabid dog…

No Prissy doesn’t have rabies, she just got hold of a frog. This isn’t the first time, you would think she would have learned her lesson by now.

Wes and I had date night tonight. We had dinner at Logan’s. Wes never ceases to amaze me. He is so outgoing. I don’t consider myself a shy person, but Wes is on the complete opposite of the spectrum. We sat down and ordered and Wes noticed this guy sitting a couple of tables over sitting by himself. So Wes just invites him over to eat with us. Turns out he was a pretty nice guy, just passing though town on his way home.  After that we went to see Superbad. I won’t say it was “Super Bad”, but it wasn’t “Super Good” either. It had its good parts, but it was definitely a guys movie. I don’t want to label myself a prude, but what happened to clean comedy? Since when did the *F-word become funny? The last 2 movies I saw before it have been the same way. It seems to the direction all movies are headed in lately. Even PG-13 are not really appropriate. By the time Kayla is old enough to go to the movies, we may not let her.

Where is my shoe?

Monday, August 13th, 2007

So driving along the interstate I saw something that I see regularly, but haven’t figured out why yet. A shoe, on the shoulder of the road. Where did it come from, how did it end up there? This seems to be a common problem. Are people driving so fast with their feet out the window that their shoes fly off? Didn’t they notice it was gone and stop to pick it up? Was your passenger mad at you and threw it out the window? Is your closet so messy that your shoe ran away from home? “Oh no dear, my shoe is missing, get the car keys we have to go look for it.” Surely it didn’t end up there without a little help. So if you didn’t want the shoes, why only ditch one? Which brings me to my next topic, ( for the people trying to dispose of the pair), the tennis shoes, laces tied together, hanging from the power line. I know you’ve seen this one too. What was that person doing up there anyway? If this was a ploy to get a new pair of shoes out of your parents, you should have found a better hiding place.

Yada Yada Yada…

Friday, August 10th, 2007

Well nothing exciting has happened this week, thats why I haven’t posted in a while. I went to the post office today and didn’t have to wait in line. Thats a first for me. Riveting stuff, I know. Anyway, Kayla is having fun. She experienced grass for the first time today. I’m not sure she was too thrilled about it though.

Of course it was bright outside. Kayla loves the camera, problem is instead of smiling, she tries to grab it and put it in her mouth.

I expect her to take off crawling any day now. She has already mastered rolling over.

4 Years and counting…

Well this was Wes and I exactly 4 years ago. We waited for our wedding day for so long then it was over in a flash. Months of planning and preparation and anticipation. It seemed like that day would never arrive, then it did and then it was over and now here we are 4 years later. It seems as if time hasn’t slowed down at all. I remember as a kid, time seemed to pass so slowly, Christmas and birthdays were always too far away. It seemed like graduation and weddings and babies were so far away. Now, here we are, happy and old. OK, so maybe were not old yet, but it seems like time is just slipping away. Maybe its like they say, “Time flies when your having fun.” The last 4 years have been amazing. Wes is the best husband anyone could ask for. I am looking forward to many many more years together. My anniversary roses :)
