Adopt a Soldier (update)…

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Great news, yesterday I received a letter from the soldier I’ve been writing too. It was comforting to get a response to him. To know he’s ok and is actually getting my letters. He wrote to tell me thanks for my letters that they were a morale boost to all the soldiers. He was also telling me about himself. He’s from our neighbor state Texas, small world eh? So, if you want to support our troops, but don’t know how. This is a great way to do it. How simple is writing a letter? If you are interested, check out the website at http://soldiersangels.com

Date Night…

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Wes and I had a great date night. First we went to the Fox and the Hound and played some pool. I really like to play, I’m not that great at it though. The 8 ball seems to be my greatest nemesis. After that we went to Whole Foods for dinner. They have excellent food and their is so much to choose from, everyone is happy. I had Salmon while Wes had sushi. See, everyone wins. Blockbuster was a disappointment, everything was checked out. What happened to their policy, ” If its not in stock, its free”? I used to hope they were out of the movie I wanted so I could get a free rental. I guess they are down sizing their selection due to movies by mail. No worries, now were at home watching the Giants vs the Marlins. Were waiting for Barry Bonds to hit home run #755 to tie Hank Aaron.

Tea anyone?

I saw this online and I couldn’t help myself. ( Another victory on Ebay) I have been looking for a tea set for Kayla and just couldn’t find the right one. I wanted something nicer than plastic and more durable than antique.  Then I found this one. I love it, I can’t wait for Kayla and I to have our first tea party. I didn’t have a tea set as a child, I think I was more into Lego’s, baseball and  mud pies. Yes, I was definitely a tomboy. But now, I like the girly things in life and hope Kayla can learn to appreciate both.  By the way, the flowers in the background are courtesy of Sadie. She brought them to me after my surgery. :)

Get your roll on…

hairrollers.jpg

Alright ladies, this is something that I have wondered about for years. Now when I go out of the house, I am already dressed, hair fixed and makeup done (some days). Now what I don’t understand is why women go out with rollers in their hair. You see them at the bank, at the mall, Walmart and everywhere else. My question is, where are you going that is so important that you gotta do your hair at Walmart? Just tonight, we saw a lady at Target, 9pm with rollers. Was she going clubbing on a Tuesday night? Does she leave them in her hair all the time in preparation for a spur of the moment event? Is this her permanent hair style and thinks rollers is a good look for her? If you or someone you know, goes out with curlers in your hair, please feel free to leave a comment to shed some light on this for me.

Just say no…

Alright, so I’m still here, still alive and all that good stuff.  I’m definitely sore today, probably no more than usual, but today was with no drugs. I have never liked taking any kind of medicine or pain killers. They make me feel weird. Yes, they definitely helped me sleep the last couple nights. But Kayla hasn’t been here, so it was ok. She’s home now, so mommy needs to get off the sauce.  Wes told me I was saying some random stuff in my sleep, and I wouldn’t doubt it. I guess this way, I really will know if I am over doing it, cause I’ll feel it. Rather than being pain free and doing something stupid resulting in prolonged recovery time. My activities are limited, even the Wii proves to be too much for me today. That didn’t stop me from playing though. Lets hope tomorrow is better. My goal is to be back to the gym on Wednesday.

I’m Alive!!!

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Yay,  I survived surgery and am home resting. My surgery was at 9:oo am yesterday morning and I left the hospital at 1:30pm. I’m no superwoman, they gave me good drugs and I was ready to come home. I would much rather be at home resting. Its much easier to sleep when you don’t have someone taking your temperature and blood pressure every 2 hours. After we left the hospital, we went to Target. Thats right, not even having an organ removed can keep me out of Target. I am just amazed by the human body, obviously all of our parts play an important part in the way we function. But to think, we can remove one and just go on as if nothing ever happened. I have a picture to post, but I’m just too lazy at the moment to scan it. So I’ll post it later. Right now, its back to bed.

Earliest post ever…

Well it is 5:30 AM, I am about to roll out to OLOL for my surgery. No, I’m not nervous, for some reason that stuff doesn’t scare me. Not that I am looking forward to it or anything. Dr. assured me that its not a big deal and that I may even come home this afternoon. Here’s hoping. So in a few hours I will be Gallbladder and more importantly Gallstone free. Wish me luck! :)

Bored to tears…

Monday, July 16th, 2007

So I haven’t posted in a while because NOTHING HAPPENED. I guess thats not necessarily a bad thing, No news is good news right? Had a fairly uneventful weekend. Had date night on Saturday night. Wes and I went to dinner at On the Border and to Clicks to play pool. We played one game of pool and 2 games of foosball. Then we left so that Wes didn’t get lung cancer. After that, we snuck into an apartment complex to play tennis. We parked near the gate and when someone came in, we tailgated them through the gate. Tennis was fun. I hadn’t played in a long time though. I was really out of practice. I could tell by the disapproving looks Wes was giving me when I hit it the wrong way or too hard. That was about it, spend the rest of the weekend watching tv. I really need a hobby.

Look Mommy, I can put my whole fist in my mouth!!!
