TV withdrawls…

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I’m having withdrawals now that all the TV shows have ended for the season. Now what am I supposed to do? Dancing with the Stars, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, My Name is Earl and ER are all on hiatus till fall . Last season, if you recall, I gave my commentary on Lost each week, but honestly this season wasn’t good enough to report about. All of these shows ended horribly. On Lost, Charlie drowned. Grey’s Anatomy, Preston left Christina at the altar, and George failed his medical boards, plus Derick and Meridith’s ongoing problems. My Name is Earl, Earl went to prison for 2 years for something he didn’t do. And on ER, Ray’s legs were amputated and Nela got stampeded at a peace rally. At least Apollo and Julienne won Dancing with the Stars, I know it was my 5 votes that put them over the top.

So I guess that the TV season has wrapped for a few months, it’s on to movie season. There are a ton of movies coming out this summer that I want to go see. Wes and I are going to see Pirates of the Caribbean this Friday for date night. We didn’t have date night last week, so we have to make up for it this week.

Gotta love our Judicial system….

So I get this large unmarked envelope in the mail this week with no return address. I was almost afraid to open it, thought it might have black mail photos or Anthrax in it. Instead I found a court summons. I have been called as a witness in a case that I don’t know about. #1. It was mailed to the wrong address, The person there acquired my address and forwarded it to me. #2. The letter reminds me that I must attend this trial and in not doing so would result in my arrest. Yet there is no date on the letter informing when and where I am supposed to report. I hope I can’t be held accountable for being ignorant to the defendant. I think it could be 1 of 2 people, one being the man that robbed the bank (5 years ago) or the man that passed a counterfeit check ( 2 years ago). If my testimony is crucial to the case, I guess he’ll be home free. I couldn’t tell you what I had for breakfast yesterday.

That was the case a few days ago when this picture was taken, not the case today. Kayla got 4 shots today, she was not happy about it either. I have never heard such a blood curdling scream in all my life. There were actual tears, from both of us. I had the lovely task of holding her down while they inflicted pain on her, I would rather had taken the shots myself . She cried for about 10 minutes and then she was so exhausted that she fell asleep. So the next 2 days we have to watch for fever and give her Tylenol every 4 hours. At least we don’t have to go back for another 2 months. But as far as everything else, she’s healthy.

I can’t help it, she looks so cute in green.

Wes and I went to Istrouma Baptist this Sunday, Kayla had everything pink except for her one blue blanket, we were asked how old he was and what was his name. Wes said next week we’ll bring the pink blanket and put a bow in her hair. We had a nice time at church though. We’ll go back to check it out again. Wes and I didn’t know that there was no pastor. They have been without a pastor for more than 6 months. This week that we decided to go, there was a special speaker and also they introduced the church to a prospective new pastor. They showed a video about him and talked about how God had closed doors to other pastors they looked at and they all felt led to this one man. He will be speaking next Sunday. So I guess we’ll have a better feel for the church after hearing him preach. It seems like a very exciting time for this church and maybe this is the right time for us to be visiting there. Other than that, everyone was super nice. Kayla even seemed to enjoy her nursery experience. Well at least they didn’t call us out of church to come get her. However, she did spit up all over the nursery worker, it didn’t seem to bother her though. She said she hoped to see her back next week. And as a bonus, she said that she would trim her fingernails for us since they were so long. I’m scared to cut them myself after I cut her the first time.
