Happy 2007…

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

I am writing to you from the future, well maybe not. Its not quite midnight yet, but thanks to time zone differnce, Wes and I were able to ring in the new year an hour early. I am always the one giving him a hard time for passing out at 10:30pm and leaving me to ring in the new year alone. Well this year I have decided to be a fuddy duddy and join him. I am sure the sound of bottle rockets and black cats will wake me at midnight anyway. Which is a miracle since fireworks are illegal in city limits. Apparently no one told our neighbors.

So, in new year tradition, its customary to make new years resolutions. This year I have decided that my new years resolution is to not make a new years resolution. Simple enough right? Maybe this year I can keep this one. Top 3 resolutions of all time are… 1.Lose Weight ( that would be an uphill battle, I’ll have to save that one for next year) 2.Save money ( might be a little hard to do since I am quitting my job in 3 months) 3. Stop Smoking ( don’t do that anyway and don’t plan to start. Infact I couldn’t be happier about the new law going into affect Jan 1, No smoking in public buildings)

Good luck with your own new years resolutions, hope you have better luck keeping yours and I hope 2007 treats you well.

Now I’m in a Christmas mood…

Wes and I had a great date last night. We went to see the Baton Rouge Symphony Christmas Brass concert. It was great. Performance took place at St. Josephs Cathedral, which is this amazing old church downtown. It was gorgeous from the high ceilings and archways to the stained glass windows and enormous pipe organ. They played a range of Christmas tunes. It was really nice, if you have never been to one of their concerts, its worth checking out.
