Hapy Late Thanksgiving…

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

Thanksgiving came a day late for the Ratcliff household this year. We went to my aunts house for dinner, but there was no turkey, no dressing, no cranberry sauce. Instead there was gumbo, ( good gumbo), but still gumbo. It was definately not the kicking off of the Christmas season. Infact, on my Friday morning comute, several station were playing Christmas music, but I couldn’t listen because it seemed so out of place. All is well though, we had a real Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house Friday night. And since then I have put my tree up and gotten into the holiday spirit. Highlight of Thanksgiving though, was Wes and I finally felt the baby kick about 2am thursday morning. She hasn’t stopped since. Apparently she is having fun :)

Registry Done!

Friday, November 17th, 2006

Wes and I went to Babies R Us and registered for all baby Ratcliff’s stuff. And as we both found out today, babies need a lot of stuff. So if you are reading this and have an extra $1500 laying around, please visit babiesrus.com and just buy the whole list, no need to wrap. And that was NOT including the furniture. We still have to register at Target, believe it or not Babies R Us didn’t have it all. Plus 2 registries will give people another option. Besides that, we also got all of our Christmas shopping done today. We took the day off to shop before the stores got crazy for the holidays. I am not a patient shopper. I have to bring Wes to Walmart with me, otherwise I would go postal on the 2 women talking in the isle with their buggies side by side, or on the guy reading all the ingredients in a can of peaches while talking on his cell phone and blocking the entire isle, or even the mother on her cell phone that decided to let her 5 year old push the buggie and ram everything including other people. Its making me mad just talking about it. Maybe I should just start sending Wes shopping by himself. Why don’t we have online grocery shopping? Purchase it online and its delivered to your door or its ready for you when you arrive at Walmart. I hope Mr. Walmart reads my blog :)

Its a girl…

Yes, we had our first sonagram this Friday and we are having a girl. Doctor said everything looks great. We might have even settled on a name, Kayla Grace Ratcliff. Now that I know, my checkbook is in danger. I have already been shopping this weekend. Just clothes though, I am going to try to wait till after Christmas to buy furniture.
