Play Ball…

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

Well we had an opening of season tournament today. I plays 4 games, in 100 deg heat. I am tired. My legs feel like their about to fall off. Had a lot of fun. Wes even got to play a bit, he helped out a team that was short on players. I didn’t have my best of offensive days, but defensively did alright. I pitched a couple innings, thats new for me. Didn’t do too shabby, I got it over the plate. Thankfully our games are at night, so that’ll be a little cooler. We will be practicing on Sundays at 2:30 though, that will be brutal. We have a good team though, it should be a good season.

We’re back…

California was awesome, weather was great. Wes and I both enjoyed some time off and relaxation. But we’re back now and as much as it sucks, we have to get back into our daily routines. Like, cleaning and paying bills and going back to work. We seem to still be on Pacific time because we’ve been sleeping in. But thats all about to change. Were going to enjoy our last day off tomorrow before heading back to the daily grind. I will be setting up a charitable account when I get back to work for anyone who would like to make donations to help a poor married couple move to California. Its really a sad story, they thrive in the California Climate of 78 deg days and 60 deg nights with no humidity and a constant breeze, not to mention that the ocean is very therapeutic. But right now they are living in Baton Rouge and the heat and humidity may cause and slow and painful death. Won’t you help them?

Dodgers beat Giants 9-7

Caught a ball game last night, it was awesome. Good thing we didn’t take directions from the man at the rental car place, he drew us a map to the wrong stadium. The game rocked though, we saw Barry Bonds hit home run 720. We had real stadium hot dogs and the worlds most expensive beer. $8 for one beer!

Slept in this morning, missed the car show, it was from 6am to 8am. But since we didn’t get back to the hotel until 12:30 this morning, 6am wasn’t looking to hot. So we got up about 8:30 and had breakfast at IHOP, then we went to Walmart of all places and bought a pair of boogie boards to play with at the beach. You can relax, there will be no future for me in professional body boarding. I wiped out several times. Ate sand and saltwater countless times. Those people that said the water is cold, weren’t joking. I got caught in a riptide twice and the second time I had to be pulled in by the coast guard. No joke, the life guard came out there and pulled me in on his booey thing. Wes was waving at me from shore. Oh well, a riptide is better than a shark. Wes and I are majorly sunburned. The bad thing is that we didn’t know we were burning, back home, its 112 deg, you know if your hot, you’re burning. Here its a pleasant 70 deg and the wind is blowing in off the water and you don’t know you are red until you get in the car. But, you live and learn I guess. Well, thats it for now, check out Wes’ website to see picks of our vacation. Were headed out for some dinner, were thinking Sushi. More later….

So like, stuff happened but I was too lazy to write about it…

Lets see, my car turned over 100,000 miles, Ball season ended with only 2 wins, I had a sinus infection, Wes had a cold and were leaving for vacation in 1 day!!! I am so excited, Wes and I will be leaving Friday morning for California. So here’s the game plan, Fly in Friday, check in, hit the Farmers Market at Huntington Beach Pier, then off to LA to see the Dodgers play the Giants. Saturday, Car Show and the beach. Sunday take a break. Monday, win a car on the Price Is Right. Tuesday? Fly home on Wednesday. Sleep the rest of the week. Its gonna be sweet, I’ll try to post some pics for your viewing pleasure if Wes can teach me how to use our new camera.
